it's been a long, long - long time.

Hello, oh blog of mine! I loved you and left you in the space of a few days, but here I am again, with new hope and good intentions. It's the first month of summer in Australia, and so far we've been spoiled with cold weather and rain and floods in some part of the country, but today it's sunny and warm and the temperature is only going to climb. As I imagine you can judge from my pale skin, I am not a huge fan of summer. But I am a huge fan of dresses.

Wearing: Garfunkle dress, heart-shaped/tortoiseshell sunglasses - both pairs gifted, bare feet because it's summer and there's grass.

I really do love those sunglasses more than is entirely reasonable. They're perfect for lounging around on summer days, and my bus drivers like them. (My bus drivers are the best. If I get on without a book they give me confused, puzzled looks.) Summer is bearable as long as I have dresses, novelty sunglasses, and vegetarian congee for breakfast.

sleepover walk of shame.

This is actually yesterday's outfit: I was in a hurry and didn't get a chance to photograph it, but last night's outing (an exhibition opening, dinner out, and secondhand book shopping) ended up with me spending an unplanned night at my aunt's house, so here I am.

Wearing: vintage button-up shirt, Banana Republic tank top, thrifted (and favourite) jeans, Dangerfield shoes. Vintage necklace locket.

And because it's cold: coat from Kinki Gerlinki.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to shower and change.

a very good place to start.

Starting slow, but also with a typical sort of outfit. I'm on holidays at the moment and didn't have anything to do today, so that meant slouching around in my most comfortable gear, but dropping off and picking up my siblings from school meant that actually getting dressed was required. So!

Wearing: fake Converse, Dangerfield jeans, oversized EM jumper, headband bought at WOMADelaide 2006. Around my wrist: the requisite two hair ties; living in a family with two other girls with long hair means the only place to keep your accessories from being stolen is on your person. I usually wear darker jeans/bottoms, and the sudden glimpse every now and then of sky blue with these always catches me off guard, but they're fairly perfect for a day of tea, letters, and internet. (And pancakes.)
